Keith Hunter is a golf instructor, and business consultant.
In the early 1980s, he was a tremendously successful defensive back for the University of Iowa football team, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree. Upon graduation, he was a free agent with the Cleveland Browns and soon after he returned to coaching collegiate football. He discovered his passion for golf when he worked as a sales representative in the golf apparel and accessories industry and soon attended the Ben Sutton and Jim McLean golf schools. Aiming for perfecting his golf game led Keith to enter into the PGA Apprentice program. Though he’s no longer in that program, he’s nationally known as an outstanding educator and effective instructor. He instructs golf clinics and business meetings around the country: Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Florida and Pennsylvania. Many of those clinics are for the top 100 Fortune 500 companies. Through untiring and determined hard work and networking, he’s established a growing corporate golf clientele. For those who play golf, he provides steady, confident-building, technique-driven skills at all levels including summer youth camps, junior academies, adult classes, and private lessons. He travels the globe enhancing his teaching skills to better serve his clientele.
Keith also has experience in working for one of the top 50 PGA junior teachers in America – Eric MacCluen of the MacCluen’s Pennsylvania Golf Academy. As an astute businessman, he established his own academy in Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania. He worked out a unique arrangement to create and open the KGH Golf Academy on the Volunteer Fire Department’s land. As a thank you and support of the fire department, Keith donated back a portion of his proceeds. In New Jersey, an international non-profit tapped Keith to analyze and identify challenges to its sprawling outdoor camp. He successfully crafted a recovery and growth plan with new construction and new customers. The plan included a football field, baseball diamond, and golf driving range. With all of his talents and experience, Keith is extremely excited to establish a new facility in North Carolina.
One last but very important thing: Keith finds a way to play professionally on tour with the Sunbelt Senior Tour.
